Acknowledgement of Land
With gratitude and respect we acknowledge that our sacred space is located on Treaty 20 Michi Saagiig territory in the traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig and Chippewa Nations, collectively known as the Williams Treaties First Nations. We acknowledge that we as settlers and newcomers to this land are party to these treaties, and so we seek to live in right relations with our indigenous neighbours who have been stewards of these lands and waters since time immemorial.
Call to Worship:
One: Life is a pilgrimage.
All: From birth to death, we travel with God.
One: El camino es la meta.
All: The journey is the goal.
One: To live fully, awake in every moment on the way,
All: this is how Christ calls us to live.
One: May our worship open us to Christ’s transforming love.
All: Amen!
Response: Hymn (VU 635 v. 2)
All the way my Saviour leads me,
cheers each winding path I tread,
gives me grace for every trial
feeds me with the living bread.
though my weary steps may falter,
and my soul athirst may be,
gushing from the rock before me,
lo, a spring of joy I see.
(Words: Fanny J. Crosby 1875, Music: Robert S. Lowry 1875)
HYMN: “Bring Many Names” VU #268 (1-3, 6)
1 Bring many names, beautiful and good,
celebrate, in parable and story,
holiness in glory, living, loving God.
Hail and hosanna! Bring many names!
2 Strong mother God, working night and day,
planning all the wonders of creation,
setting each equation, genius at play:
Hail and hosanna, strong mother God!
3 Warm father God, hugging every child,
feeling all the strains of human living,
caring and forgiving till we're reconciled:
Hail and hosanna, warm father God!
6 Great, living God, never fully known,
joyful darkness far beyond our seeing,
closer yet than breathing, everlasting home:
Hail and hosanna, great, living God!
Opening Prayer: Spoken in Unison
Pilgrim God,
you journey with your people and make each day an opportunity
to grow into our most authentic self, to deepen in love,
and to open to the wonders of your grace.
For this and all your gifts, your people say: Thank you.
In this time of worship, may we be especially aware of your presence –
comforting, challenging, and guiding us.
So, through prayer and praise, word and silence, may you become the very road we travel, the signposts on the way, and the welcome at journey’s end.
In Christ’s name we pray.
Amen

LEARNING TOGETHER: Woolbur
HYMN: “Bathe Me in Your Light” MV #82
1. Bathe me in your light, O God of All, Creator;
let it shine upon my soul with healing and with grace.
Be to me a beacon bright through shadows of life’s wounding,
showing me the way to live in faith, in your embrace.
2. Bathe me in your love, O Source of Awe and Wonder;
help me walk the sacred path of harmony and peace.
May I be attentive to the musings of your presence,
drinking from the well of hope that brings the heart release.
3. Bathe me in your grace, O One of Spirit’s longing;
teach me of your gentle ways that fill the soul with strength.
Guide me on the pilgrimage that leads to truth and wholeness,
Fill me with your promise of a love that knows no length.
THE WORD
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:1-11

OUR RESPONSE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER:
(spoken VU #921)
HYMN: “Will You Come and Follow Me” VU #567
1 Will you come and follow me
if I but call your name?
Will you go where you don't know
and never be the same?
Will you let my love be shown,
will you let my name be known,
will you let my life be grown
in you and you in me?
2 Will you leave yourself behind
if I but call your name?
Will you care for cruel and kind
and never be the same?
Will you risk the hostile stare
should your life attract or scare?
Will you let me answer prayer
in you and you in me?
3 Will you let the blinded see
if I but call your name?
Will you set the prisoners free
and never be the same?
Will you kiss the leper clean,
and do such as this unseen,
and admit to what I mean
in you and you in me?
4 Will you love the 'you' you hide
if I but call your name?
Will you quell the fear inside
and never be the same?
Will you use the faith you've found
to reshape the world around,
through my sight and touch and sound
in you and you in me?
5 Christ, your summons echoes true
when you but call my name.
Let me turn and follow you
and never be the same.
In your company I'll go
where your love and footsteps show.
Thus I'll move and live and grow
in you and you in me.
