Our Vision

Mission Statement

  • Highland Hills United Church had a Visioning Session planned for March 29th, 2020 to articulate the new Vision of the amalgamated congregation. COVID-19 saw the cancellation of that session. We feel it is very important for people to interact together face-to-face to develop a new vision and await a future time when we can do so safely. In the meantime, we continue to be inspired by the Mission Statements of our sister churches that were written before the amalgamation process and the disbanding of Maple Lake United Church.

  • With the help of the Holy Spirit, we, the congregation of Minden United Church provide:

    • an opportunity for all to discover, explore, develop and share one’s faith within our Christian spiritual community;

    • pastoral care for the congregation, the extended family of God and the community;

    • by our givings, support to those in need through education and action, especially on issues of health, poverty, environment and social justice;

    • a place to celebrate and honour the life passages of all.

    Vision Statement for Minden United Church

    We affirm our commitment to encourage the growth of a diverse community where all persons are welcome regardless of age, gender, race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, differing abilities, gender identity, economic circumstances and family composition.

    We continue to build and strengthen our relationship with those who face injustice and discrimination. We invite all persons to take part in every aspect of our church, such as worship, membership, communion, leadership, spiritual growth, celebrations, and marriage.

    We celebrate the richness that diversity brings to our church life. Though there are challenges, God is with us on our journey to seek both love and justice in our partnerships with others in the church, and in our community.

  • To connect people to Christ and to each other.

  • Zion United is a caring and sharing church. We welcome all to join us in the worship of God, in fellowship and in support of those in need.
